How to Draw Spiderman
Today we’ll continue our series of superhero drawing tutorials with a guide to drawing Spiderman. We’re going to create a full body image of Spiderman. This tutorial has a lot of details but if you work slowly and meticulously you will be able to create your own, great looking Spiderman drawing.
If you need additional help, check the video guide to drawing Spiderman and printable step-by-step drawing instructions at the bottom of this guide.
We will sketch a rough outline for the Spiderman drawing first. The first simple shapes will guarantee that the dimensions and positions are going look right in the completed drawing.
Have your eraser handy and keep your lines light. The first shapes will be erased before your Spiderman illustration is complete.
In the guide below, each step is highlighted in a light blue color.
You don't need any special pens or tools. A regular pencil, eraser, and paper are all you need. If you want, you can also color the drawing with colored pencils or pens.

Step-by-Step Instructions
for Drawing Spiderman
Draw a small circle on the top of your paper. Leave enough space for the rest of Spiderman’s body.
Draw a U-shape for the chin.
Draw a line across the face, slightly to the right from the middle.
Draw another U-line for the neck.
Sketch the shoulders with a couple of strokes.
Draw curving lines for the sides of the body. Add a line across the chest.
Draw two ovals where the shoulders and arms connect. Add a curve for the waist.
Draw two ovals for each arm and an oval for each thigh.
Add circles for knees and ovals for lower legs. Sketch outlines of clenched fists.
Outline the ankles and feet.
Draw the eyes like two tear shapes.
Erase the extra lines.
Flesh out the arms, legs, and fists. Add detail to Spiderman’s costume with two curving lines on both sides of the chest.
Detail the feet and ankles. Add two curves where the gloves end.
Remove the rest of the “helper” shapes.
Add small curves to the body, legs, and arms to outline muscles.
Now, we will start drawing the spider web pattern on the costume. Outline the vertical lines first.
Add the horizontal lines. Each horizontal line needs to arc a little bit to give the pattern a spider web-like look.
Sketch the Spiderman logo on the chest.
Color your Spiderman drawing.
